On the seventeenth day of the Monsoon Session, top INDIA bloc leaders, including Congress Parliamentary Party chairperson Sonia Gandhi and party president Mallikarjun Kharge, joined Opposition MPs in a protest inside Parliament over the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) issue.
Several MPs arrived wearing white T-shirts with the slogan ‘124 Not Out’. Nationalist Congress Party (Sharad Pawar) MP Supriya Sule and DMK MP Kanimozhi were among those holding onions as part of the demonstration.
The protest follows Monday’s incident when Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi, Congress MP Priyanka Gandhi, and other INDIA bloc members were detained by Delhi Police during a march from Parliament to the Election Commission office over alleged electoral irregularities in Bihar.
